Born in Murano in 1969, Adriano Mellara is a master glassmaker who has developed a personal language over the years within the island’s rich glassmaking tradition. Trained alongside skilled artisans, including the renowned Arnaldo Zanella, he has refined a solid technique and an artistic sensitivity particularly attuned to nature.
Mellara is especially known for his delicate compositions depicting nests, branches, and small birds, crafted using various materials and techniques such as chalcedony, pâte de verre, and gold leaf. His works are distinguished by a balanced fusion of detail, chromatic harmony, and formal simplicity.
Without ever straying from the Murano tradition, he has explored new expressive solutions, always maintaining a sober and elegant style. His work has also been appreciated abroad, with several pieces included in international private collections.
Alongside his artistic production, Mellara has also been committed to passing on artisanal knowledge, participating in demonstrations and educational activities. His work, coherent and deeply personal, contributes to the contemporary narrative of Murano glass, offering an intimate and respectful perspective on both nature and material.
